can i get my data with a data recovery software?
Saturday, November 7th, 2009
Hi
one of my harddisk has got corruoted. It comes in my computer but when I open it, it asks for formatting it. i have important data on it.
can i get my data with a data recovery software?
I had a problem like that a few years ago. Suddenly, I could no longer read a hard drive which included some key information. I tried some products but to no avail, and I took it to CompUSA which charged me $99 and then couldn’t do anything either. (They were nice enough to refund my money.)
I went to another PC shop that advertised that it did data recovery among its other things (sales, service, networks, etc.), but when I got there, I realized that they didn’t have any experts in data recovery — all they had was a fancy software program. They were able to get some of the data by interfacing the drive with their computer (the problem was in a connection somewhere, but they couldn’t figure out which one), but they lost the folder structure, and halfway through, they changed their pricing structure (originally they said $99, then they called and said that they were at $600 and about halfway through!). Screw them!
Finally, I went to a company that specialized in data recovery, Cherry Systems (no, it’s not porn, that really is the name). Their minimum fee was $360, but they got every last piece of data in there, and they kept the folder structure intact so I knew where and what everything was. They had specialized techniques to get data from working hard drives, difficult hard drives, and even hard drives that could no longer be accessed. Some of their recovery methods were software and some were hardware methods, so they really dug deep.
My guess is that if you can’t read the hard drive at all, and the computer wants to reformat it, you won’t be able to get at it with a software solution. After all, the software solution requires the computer to interface with the hard drive, which it isn’t doing.
My advice is that if this is really important, take it to a real data recovery professional. You will pay (!) for this service, but don’t go to your local neighborhood PC shop which will pull some type of bait-and-switch on you.
Good luck!

I need a sd memory card data recovery software free of cost?
Thursday, July 22nd, 2010
hi guys i hope all will b fine.
Dear my memory card get a problem when i entered it into mobile and try to open it , a message comes please format your card , i dont want to formate my 2 gb sd memory card because it contain my important data,
so i m requesting you here please tell me the memory card recovery software which recover my all types data from my card and it also available free of cost?
if you know the proper place where i can download it then please mention it?
What did you use to put data ON the card BEFORE trying to use it in the mobile? Put the card back in that device and I’ll bet your data will STILL be there. Many devices which use SD memory cards will not be able to read a card which is not formatted IN the device. So, put it back in wherever it was, copy all the data off to someplace else as a backup. Then, put the card into the phone and format it for use with the phone. Then remove it and put it back where it was and restore the data from the backup. OK, so if the data IS gone, then try doing a search here:
http://www.download.com
http://www.filehippo.com
http://www.tucows.com
Do a keyword search for something like "SD memory card file recovery undelete" and see what tuns up. These sites all have a wealth of free and shareware programs available.
